MEDICARE PATIENT INFORMATION

Enliven Chiropractic Welcomes Medicare Patients

Attention Medicare Chiropractic Patients

Enliven Chiropractic PLLC is a participating provider with Medicare, and we are pleased to welcome you to our office. To help you better understand your coverage, here’s a breakdown of what Medicare does and does not cover in a chiropractic setting.

Medicare Covers:

  • Chiropractic adjustments (also known as spinal manipulations) for acute conditions.

Medicare Does Not Cover:

  • Initial office exams performed by a chiropractor.

  • Subsequent office exams for new injuries or progress reviews.

  • X-rays ordered by a chiropractor, even if not performed in our office.

  • Labs ordered by a chiropractor, even if not performed in our office.

  • Nutritional supplements.

  • Nutritional consultations.

  • Manipulations (adjustments) of any area other than the spine (e.g., shoulders, head, knees).

  • Maintenance spinal manipulations (adjustments).

  • Durable medical equipment.

How Will My Supplement Help?

A Medicare Supplement, depending on your plan (e.g., AARP, Bankers Life, Royal Neighbors), will typically cover the co-insurance and deductible for services that Medicare pays.

How Will a “True” Secondary Work?

A "true" secondary insurance typically covers what Medicare does not pay for in a chiropractic setting. Please note that a “true” secondary may have a deductible that needs to be met before payments on claims are made. Each secondary insurance plan is unique, and we will verify your benefits with your provider. However, please understand that what we are told by the insurance company is based on the customer service representative’s understanding of your policy and does not guarantee payment.

Your Responsibility:

  • Provide accurate and current Medicare ID cards.

  • Inform us of your type of Medicare (e.g., Regular or Railroad).

  • Pay for all non-covered services.

  • Pay all co-insurance amounts if you do not have a supplement policy or if your “true” secondary will not be making payment.

  • Verify your insurance benefits.
